The Iraqi Women Judges Association concluded its “Future Women Judges” program today, Thursday, July 30, 2026, with its final training session at the Judicial Development Institute. The session was attended by Judge Laith Jabr Hamza, Head of the Judicial Supervision Authority, members of the Association, and the Dean of the College of Law at the American University in baghdad
A statement from the Association stated that the Head of the Judicial Supervision Authority reviewed the types of judicial work and procedures during the session, wishing the program participants success.
The statement explained that the program, sponsored by the Iraqi Women Judges Association, targeted the first cohort of female law students at the American University in baghdad It is a comprehensive training program aimed at preparing a generation of Iraqi female judges according to the highest professional standards.
It added that the program introduced participants to the structure of the Iraqi judiciary, the jurisdictions of the courts, and the role of a female judge both inside and outside the courtroom. The training included 25 female students.
The statement indicated that the program was launched on April 9, 2026, in the presence of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, and continued through a series of specialized training courses until its conclusion today
