The Iraqi Women Judges Association announced today, Sunday, its participation as one of the official sponsors of the Global Summit on Preventing the Recruitment of Children and Protecting Children Affected by Armed Conflict, scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in October 2026.
The Association’s administration affirmed that “the Summit represents a high-level international platform for dialogue and cooperation with the United Nations on issues related to protecting children affected by armed conflict, preventing the recruitment of children, international humanitarian law, and human rights.”
It noted that “the Iraqi Women Judges Association’s role as an official sponsor of this international initiative reflects its firm commitment to strengthening the protection of children during armed conflicts, supporting the rule of law, justice, and human rights, and expanding the horizons of international judicial and legal cooperation.”
It added that “this participation represents the growing role of Iraqi women in international forums and the contribution of Iraqi women judges to shaping global legal dialogue and strengthening policies and legislative frameworks aimed at protecting children and promoting human rights.”
This initiative reaffirms the League’s mission to build bridges of cooperation with international institutions and organizations, and to contribute actively to legal and humanitarian issues of global significance.
The summit brings together a distinguished group of international figures, including high-level representatives from the United Nations, an advisor to the International Criminal Court, members of the Italian University Network, as well as policymakers, international experts, and prominent judicial, academic, and legal figures from around the world.
