The President of the Supreme Judicial Council receives a delegation of Arab women judges

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zaidan, received today, Saturday, February 14, 2026, a delegation of Arab women judges, in the presence of Judge Ms. Mena Sukrati, President of the International Association of Women Judges.

During the meeting, His Excellency emphasized the importance of strengthening professional cooperation among women judges in Arab countries to enhance judicial performance. The meeting also included discussions on administrative and professional matters related to the work of women judges, their presence within judicial institutions, and ways to strengthen their leadership role.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Iraqi Women Judges Association, Judge Taghreed Abdul Majeed, along with members of the Association’s Board of Directors.

It is worth noting that the delegation of Arab women judges is currently visiting Baghdad in light of the conference of the founding committee of the Arab Women Judges Network, held in the capital, Baghdad, from February 13–14, 2026, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme – Regional Bureau for Arab States.

During the meeting with the President of the Council, the founding committee announced the adoption of Baghdad as the permanent headquarters of the Arab Women Judges Network, by unanimous agreement of the participating women judges representing the Arab countries present at the founding meeting, namely Iraq, Morocco, Qatar, Algeria, Yemen, and Palestine.
